Non-Rabha organizations demand amendment of RHAC Act

GOALPARA, Dec 26: The Non-Rabha Co-ordination Committee (NRCC) has demanded amendments to a few sections of the Rabha-Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) Act. The committee raised the demand in a press meet that was organized at the District Journalists’ Association office, Goalpara, today.
Addressed by the NRCC leader, advocate Shahjahan Ali and Moulana Moslemuddin, the committee protested the Section 2 and 3 of RHAC Amendment Act 2005 and demanded for their repeal. “The Sections 2, 3 and 6 are the general hindrance for the Non-Rabha people living in the RHAC areas in case of possession of land, property, etc”, remarked Shahjahan Ali.
