AGP to maintain equidistance from Congress, BJP: Mahanta
SILCHAR, Jan 15: “AGP will maintain equidistance from Congress and BJP and the question of any adjustment or alliance with them does not arise”, pointed out AGP president and former Chief Minister of Assam, Prafulla Kr Mahanta, while addressing media persons as ‘guest of the day’ at the invitation of Silchar Press Club here on last Saturday. His reply was in response to the question if in the coming panchayat and the subsequent parliamentary elections his party was thinking in terms of adjustment. He however left enough indication of the possibility of understanding with AIUDF, now an emerging force in the State politics.
