Cachar administration gears up for panchayat elections
SILCHAR, Jan 4: The district administration of Cachar has made all necessary preparations for holding the Panchayat elections in all the GP members constituencies numbering 1630 to be held on February 12 in 1669 polling stations. Briefing media persons in the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner here this evening, Harendra Kumar Deb Mahanta, DC, said in all there are 903599 electorates, 477381 male and 426218 female, who will exercise their franchise to elect their representatives to the Gaon panchayats.
