150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda
SILCHAR, Jan 10: Vivekananda Kendra Sardha Shati Samaroh, Dakshin Assam, has taken up year long programmes to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in a befitting manner from January 12 with mass participation. Dr Shankar Bhatacharjee, secretary, Dr Tapas Shankar Dutta, president, and Dr Mandira Dutta Chowdhury of women wing, of the south Assam committee, briefing media-persons here on Wednesday giving details of the programme said the celebration would begin with a grand and colourful procession on January 12 to be followed by mass ‘surya namaskar’ by school students on February 18. From March 2013 till July of the year, distribution of Vivekananda literature and related materials, besides house to house contact across the urban and rural areas, have been planned.
