Siddhartha Nandi Purkayastha elected vice–president of teachers’ association United Kingdom


Silchar boy elected vice–president of teachers’ association, United Kingdom (UK)

SILCHAR, Jan 30: Siddhartha Nandi Purkayastha, Teacher of English, Challney High School for Girls, Luton, United Kingdom was elected vice – president, NASUWT (National Association of Schoolmasters/ Union of Women Teachers) during the Annual General Meeting held recently. NASUWT is the largest Teacher’s Union in the United Kingdom. Siddhartha has been an active member of the association since July 2006.

Siddhartha graduated from Assam University, Silchar, in 2000 and obtained the Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary English) from King’s College, University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom in 2006. Siddhartha has been teaching at Challney High School for Girls, Luton since September 2008. He taught English at Lea Manor High School, Luton, United Kingdom from September 2006 – August 2008.

Siddhartha is a registered member of both General Teaching Council for England and General Teaching Council for Scotland. Siddhartha was a Member of the Governing Body, Bushmead Pre – School, Luton, United Kingdom from November 2010 – November 2012. Siddhartha is the eldest son of Dr Sujit Kumar Nandi Purkayastha, a renowned orthopedician and Dr Sunanda Nandi Purkayastha, educationist and social worker of the town.
