ACKHSA Yuva Front meets former CM to garner mass support for BG
SILCHAR, Jan 17: With a view to garner mass support to fight for the expeditious completion of Silchar-Lumding Broad Gauge project, the members and supporters of the youth front of All Cachar-Karimganj-Hailakandi Students’ Association (ACKHSA) met former Chief Minister and AGP president, Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, during his recent visit to Barak Valley. The delegation headed by its president Promod Srivastava brought into focus the present status of the project and requested him to raise the issue in the ensuing session of Assembly.
When former Prime Minister, HD Devegowda inaugurated the Silchar Lumding broad-gauge project with much funfare in 1996, Prafulla Kumar was the then Chief Minister of Assam.
